About Organisation:  TEMIDA is a trans-led, queer feminist organization dedicated to fostering a fair, inclusive, and equitable political, legal, and social landscape for transgender individuals. The organization strives to ensure that the state and society recognize and support the needs, concerns, challenges, and rights of trans people. Temida provides vital services for social and economic empowerment, encompassing housing, employment support, gender-affirming healthcare, and advocacy.

Background: The purpose of this research is to conduct a comprehensive study on the needs and challenges faced by transgender individuals living in Kutaisi, Zugdidi, and Batumi, Georgia. The research will primarily focus on gathering insights through interviews and analyzing local municipal social and health programs to understand the existing support mechanisms and identify areas for improvement.

Objectives:
a. To identify the specific needs and challenges faced by transgender individuals in Kutaisi, Zugdidi, and Batumi.
b. To assess the effectiveness of local municipal social and health programs in addressing the needs of the transgender community.
c. To provide recommendations for enhancing existing programs or developing new initiatives to better support the transgender population.

Scope:
The research will cover the following aspects:
a. Personal experiences and challenges faced by transgender individuals in the three cities.
b. Access to social and health services for transgender individuals.
c. Effectiveness and inclusivity of existing municipal programs aimed at supporting the transgender community.

Methodology:
a. Conduct qualitative interviews with a diverse sample of 30 transgender individuals from Kutaisi, Zugdidi, and Batumi.
b. Utilize open-ended questions to allow participants to share their experiences, needs, and suggestions.
c. Analyze local municipal social and health programs through a review of relevant documentation and data.

Ethical Considerations:
a. Ensure informed consent is obtained from all participants.
b. Guarantee confidentiality and anonymity for participants.
c. Respect cultural sensitivities and diversity within the transgender community.

Timeline:
The research is expected to be conducted from 1 February 2024 to 25 March 2025, with specific milestones for data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Reporting:
a. Prepare a detailed report outlining the findings of the research.
b. Provide recommendations for improving existing programs or developing new initiatives.
c. Present the research findings to relevant stakeholders, including local authorities and community organizations.

Budget: 850 USD including taxes

Qualifications: The researcher should possess:
a. Experience in conducting social research
b. Familiarity with the cultural context and challenges faced by trans individuals in Georgia.
c. Strong analytical and communication skills.
