Project Title: Empowering the Trans and Queer Community through Crisis Services, Training Programs, Employment Promotion, and Employment Site Sensitization.

Planned Project Budget: 207 800 GEL

The goal of the project is to enhance the quality and availability of crisis services, promote employment opportunities, and sensitize employment sites for members of the LGBTQ community facing crisis situations or gender-based violence.

Services within the scope of the project include career promotion and employment services, funding for retraining courses, support for workplace sensitization), psycho-social support for temporary housing beneficiaries, and case management.

Activities:

Conducting a survey of employment opportunities and employers’ attitudes

Preparing a Handbook on creating inclusive and gender-affirming employment sites for LGBTQ community members

Organizing sensitization workshops for employers

Participating in employment forums

Purchasing a car to enhance service delivery

Organizing recreational activities for temporary housing beneficiaries

Results of the Project:

  • 47 queer individuals received employment and career counseling services.
  • 10 individuals secured employment through the consultations.
  • Vocational retraining trainings were funded for 16 LGBTQ community members.
  • University education was funded for 1 member of the trans community.
  • The “Temida’s” promotion stand was presented at the HR Congress, and attended by over 300 representatives from businesses, government structures, and educational institutions.
  • A car was acquired to improve “Temida” services.
  • Recreational events were organized for the beneficiaries of temporary housing
